The expansion for the east endzone of Dowdy-Ficklen stadium began on December 14, 2009. Progress is well underway. If you would like to view a live shot of the endzone, check out WITN’s webcam. Also, bids were made on the removal of the scoreboard. They varied from $7,500 to $80,000. Of course ECU chose the $7,500 bid. After the Pirates' victory over UAB this past weekend and a loss by SMU, the Pirates now control their own destiny on the road to the C-USA Championship. If ECU is able to earn a W this weekend against Southern Miss, ECU would win their division of C-USA and host Houston in the conference championship game at Dowdy Ficklen on December 5th.
