TOGETHER WE STAND AND DIVIDED WE FALL!

I am sure I don't stand alone when I say I am a little frustrated with the Pirates performance over the past six games. But as great leaders always do, Terry Holland has taken a stance and made it well known that Pirate Nation must stand together and remain confident and supportive of our team. Below is a message from him sent out today regarding Pirate expectations and maintaining unity and resolve.

ECU Homecoming: 100 Years of Treasured Traditions

There really is no better time to head to Greenville for a football game than Homecoming (unless we land home field for the Conference USA championship). I can't wait. I have spoken to a lot of my friends that are setting up big plans for the game. We are all getting prepared to stir-fry Rice.

Get your flu shot before heading to Chapel Hill

Bottles of Purell hand sanitizer have been flying of the shelves in Greenville leading up to this weekends ECU vs. UNC game in Chapel Hill this weekend. Some stores have even invested in purple masks to sell to Pirate fans who are making the trip UNC. The Tarheels lead the University School System in most confirmed cases of H1N1 flu virus, commonly known as Swine Flu.

The Pirates have a new badass 18-wheeler to haul the football gear around the country for away games. Thanks to Old Dominion Freight Lines and ISP Sports for sponsoring the truck. I also had a little fun with Jerry Reed's 'East Bound & Down' lyrics by making them a little more Pirate friendly. Check out the new lyrics and a gallery of pictures of the new equipment truck.

ECU announces kick-off times for the 2009 home football schedule

Earlier this week, East Carolina University's athletic department released the kick-off times for all of the 2009 home games. With all but one started before 3:30pm, it looks like the tailgater's season will be bright and early in the morning. One plus is that fans of opposing schools either have to stay overnight in Greenville (a big boost for the local economy) or drive a long way early Saturday morning.

The spirit of Keith LeClair is still very much alive in Greenville…

As I stood at my tailgate spot enjoying what might be the best Corona I've ever had, I felt a tug on my sleeve. Standing below me was my little brother and I began grinning ear-to-ear.
