Ballin!! Lady Pirates 4-0

For the first time since the 1998-99 season, the Lady Pirates basketball team is 4-0. With a 75-70 win over American, the lady Pirates are taking steps in the right direction to compete with the best in Conference USA. For a second there, I was wondering if the Lady Pirates already had a basketball practice facility. If only the men's team was playing as well.

Bagwell Field looks bad ass right now…

Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium is going to be electric tonight. Not only are the stands going to be stuffed to the brim but we will be looking down onto a new logo on Bagwell Field. If you do not walk into Dowdy-Ficklen tonight around 7:00 p.m. and feel all of the energy inside of you, there must be something wrong with you.

TOGETHER WE STAND AND DIVIDED WE FALL!

I am sure I don't stand alone when I say I am a little frustrated with the Pirates performance over the past six games. But as great leaders always do, Terry Holland has taken a stance and made it well known that Pirate Nation must stand together and remain confident and supportive of our team. Below is a message from him sent out today regarding Pirate expectations and maintaining unity and resolve.

ECU Homecoming: 100 Years of Treasured Traditions

There really is no better time to head to Greenville for a football game than Homecoming (unless we land home field for the Conference USA championship). I can't wait. I have spoken to a lot of my friends that are setting up big plans for the game. We are all getting prepared to stir-fry Rice.

Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium expansion to begin in December 2009

ECU has given the go ahead for a 7,000 east endzone expansion beginning this upcoming December. The Dowdy-Ficklen stadium expansion has been much talked about and much anticipated over the past year. Student Pirate Club members and the ECU Marching Pirates would be moved from their current location to the 7,000 seat expansion. This would open up 3,500-4,000 seats between the 35 yard lines for Pirate Club members.

A Great Shirt For An Even Better Cause

If you have ever read Boneyard Banter, there is a pretty good chance you know who Whitey is. He could just be another username on Boneyard that you see replying in a funny way to a topic or coming up with a clever nickname for something about the Pirates. However, Whitey’s presence on Boneyard could mean a lot more than that if you are one of the people that has been fortunate enough to be touched by his kindness and sincerity. If you don’t read Boneyard (and you should) then let me pass along an incredible story about one of the biggest East Carolina University fans that I have ever come into contact with.

Shuffle up & deal, Pirates!

Get ready for the Pirate Club's "A Night in G-Vegas" event that will serve as a fundraiser for the 2009 scholarship fund. I can't think of a better way to bring in a lot of money for the 2009 scholarship fund and also give the Pirate fans an opportunity to meet and greet and gamble (fake money of course). Dinner and drinks will be included and you will have the chance to win a bunch of great prizes like beach vacations and off-shore fishing trips. Read the post to find out more about the prizes, the food, the celebrity dealers and much, much more.

ECU license plates have finally arrived in Virginia

The official ECU license plates for the state of Virginia showed up in the mail today and thanks to @jondeutsch on Twitter, we have a picture of the plate on his car. If you are in North Carolina, Virginia or Maryland and don't have the official plate yet, it is time to step it up. Check out the rest of the post to find out more information on how to get them and starting supporting the old E.C. (officially) on your car. Plus, the North Carolina tags give a little bit of money back to the University of North Carolina school system.
