Basketball, Featured, Pirate Club

The ECU men’s basketball team is set to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 15 inside Greensboro Coliseum.  This will be a home game for our Pirates and we need to bring as many fans as possible.  ECU is providing 3 charter buses for students and so far they have 120 students going.  We want to do our part as well, so in order to help paint Greensboro purple on Sunday, 200YTL is giving away free tickets to the game.  We have 20 tickets that we want to give to members of the Pirate Nation. All you have to do is post a comment below with a valid name and e-mail address below (so we can contact you) or shoot us an e-mail at The first 20 people to do this will get the tickets and can pick them up from us outside of Greensboro Coliseum on Sunday. We will confirm the first 20 people by timestamps on comments and e-mails so make sure you do it quickly before we run out of tickets. If you are one of the 20, we will send you an e-mail to let you know how to pick them up. GO PIRATES!!! Beat Wake and Tulsa!!!

Wake Forest leads the all-time series with East Carolina, 6-0. The Deacons went into Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum  last Dec. 22 and came away with a 95-54 defeat of the Pirates.

ECU returns eight letter winners, including three starters, off last year’s squad that finished 13-17 overall and 5-11 in Conference USA play.  Junior guard Brock Young is the son of former Deacon standout Danny Young (1981-84).

After The Game

The Triad Pirate Club announced a post-basketball / pre-football Tailgate Party to take place at Buffalo Wings and Rings. They are hosting a Corn Hole Tournament beginning at 6:30pm!  You may register as a two-person team or if a single you will be blind paired with another single. Registration is $5 donation per person before the tournament. The winning team members will each receive a $25 gift certificate to purchase Pirates gear at The Conference Store in Greensboro. In addition, your registration donation will also enter you into a special Grand Prize Pirates Raffle. The winner will be announced at half-time of the football game.
