ECU Girls, Featured, Football

East Carolina Cheerleader, Cassie Adcock was featured on the popular sports blog Bleacher Report’s “College Football Preseason Top 25 Power Rankings: Cheerleader Edition”.  ECU Cheerleaders were ranked No. 3, beating the No. 22 ranked UNC. In doing a little research on Cassie, I found out this is not the first time she has gained national recognition for her squad.  Back in October, Cassie was deemed Sport’s IllustratedCheerleader of the Week.” Here is Cassie’s 25 questions from SI.com.

I love my school, but I almost went to: UNC-Greensboro

My best physical feature is: My blue eyes.

If I had to watch one movie on loop forever, it would be: Man on Fire (I love Denzel)

If you looked at the “most played” songs on my iPod, you’d see a lot of: Definitely all ’80s … Michael Jackson, Pat Benatar, Paula Abdul.

My worst habit is: Talking too much. I am such a chatterbox.

My game day superstitions are: Wearing my tie-dyed purple-and-gold sports bra.

I’d love to trade places for a day with: Actress (and ECU alum) Emily Procter from CSI Miami.

The talent I’d most like to have that I don’t possess is: I would love to be able to sing really well, but, trust me, that doesn’t stop me. My friends are constantly telling me to stop singing, bless their hearts.

These three things top my bucket list: Dancing on Broadway, living in Europe and having a family.

I’d want my last meal to be: A No. 5 combo from Chick-Fil-A and my Mammaw’s sweet potato pie.

The most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me during a game is: During a break in a basketball game, I had a cold and had forgotten that I tucked a tissue into the top of my skirt. I went to tumble and the tissue fell out right in the middle of the court.

Three things I’d take to a desert island are: FOOD, Family and my Bible.

My favorite sport and professional sports teams are: Basketball. Go Charlotte Bobcats!

My one guilty pleasure is: Eating Swedish fish.

My celebrity crush is: Adrian Grenier.

Five people I’d like to have dinner with (living or dead) are: Honestly, nothing beats a huge family dinner. It would be too hard to just choose five of them. Plus, the rest would probably get jealous.

My friends would be surprised to know that I: I actually enjoy studying. I love to make note cards and highlight. Ha!

The next risk I want to take is: Living on my own. I want to be able to completely support myself.

The reality show I’d do best on is: So You Think You Can Dance.cassie adcock 3

The worst date I’ve ever been on was: Honestly, there haven’t been any awful dates; I’m not too hard to please. I’ll have to keep you posted.

The East Carolina Cheerleading squad is a vital part of the athletic program providing entertainment and motivation for our Pirate teams. Motivation, eh? I hope Cassie and her squad can motivate the Pirates to go all the way to capture their second consecutive Championship ring.

And maybe Cassie can motivate you  EC fans to purchase 2009 football season tickets. As of last week there was less than 800 available. The cut-off is tomorrow (August 7th) at 5:00 pm.  The Pirates are again nearing the opportunity to play in front of full-capacity crowds at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium this fall, so get your tickets now. Time is running out. Plus Cassie is a senior, so this is your last chance to see her shake her pom poms.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.ECUPirates.com or by calling the ECU Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-DIAL-ECU.
