The Pirates came in #38 in The Quad’s countdown on NYTimes.com. Check out the pretty indepth analysis that Paul Myersberg gave the Pirates. There are some questionable things in it but, overall, its a good piece. He needs to layoff the AP Style because those period between E, C & U look terrible.

Apparently, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's basketball program is starting early after initiating its new fetal recruitment policy which will begin trying to get commitments from the fetuses during the second trimester. This is taking college recruitment to a whole new level and collegiate fans can watch their players grow from a baby to a bigger baby when they begin playing at UNC.

You MUST watch this video. It is an excellent grassroots tribute to Chris Johnson's days at ECU. The Titans are lucky to have this ECU running back who holds the record for the fastest electronic time ever at the NFL combine, 4.24 seconds. He is a beast. Thanks to Andy Hutchins from The Arena Blog for pointing it out to me. The video pays a fine tribute to the time that CJ spent playing for the Pirates.

In the new era of connectivity via PC's, Cell Phones, PDA's, and anything else with an internet connection, the ECU Pirates are keeping us all well informed. Through sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter we have been able to find out news about Pirate baseball, basketball, football and the ECU Pirate Club before it ever makes it up on their official ECU site.
